Spin Transfer to a Magnetic Vortex
The main thrust of the video is his equation combining the effects of spin transfer and momentum transfer from the electric current into one equation which can be used to describe the movement of a domain wall through a nanowire and the effects of driving a magnetic vortex with an electric current.
Control of a magnetic vortex is of particular interest to the development of spin torque oscillators – a new class of microwave signal generators.
